The basket

One cookie holds what is in your basket and keeps hold of it through the checkout. Without it the shop cannot work at all, which is why it is called strictly necessary and why there is no option to turn it off and still buy something.

Your preferences

A second remembers a choice such as a country, so you are not asked twice. It goes when you close the browser, or not long after.

What is not here

No advertising cookie. No cross-site tracker. No profile being built as you move between sites. Nothing this site sets is of any use to anyone but this site.

Getting rid of them

Every browser can show you what is stored and delete it, usually under privacy or site settings. Blocking the basket cookie will stop the basket working – that is the trade, not a bug.
